One of the first things you need to know in owning a car is opening and closing the hood. In an EcoSport, it can be done by simply pulling a lever near the pedals.

To close the hood, simply let it fall under its own weight, at a height of about 6 to 8 inches. Knowing how to open and close the hood is essential and will become handy in roadside emergency especially in inspecting the various engine components.
