Car Ultrasonic Diffuser

Portable ultrasonic diffusers can be used to fill a car’s cabin with a fine water mist and oil fragrance of your choice. The amount of mist dispensed can be varied depending on your preference. The unit is powered via a 5V USB port and features glowing LED lights.

Cabin Air Filter (Pollen Filter)

I have recently received a genuine Ford cabin air filter (or pollen filter) from one of our readers. The cabin air filter prevents dust particles from reaching the part of the air-conditioning system that cools the air (the evaporator). The filter is replaced every 20,000 km or as necessary. While non-Ford filters are also available, they may not offer the same amount of usable surface area (that’s why they are so cheap, they use less material). I am glad someone thought of sending me this, I do not need to buy one for the next scheduled maintenance of our EcoSport.

Cabin air filter (or more accurately, pollen filter) is replaced every 20,000 km or as needed

To keep the cabin air filter free from molds (which in turn will cause foul smell to develop), always give time for the filter to reach ambient temperature before switching off the engine. You can do this by simply switching the air conditioner to fan mode only, for at least 5 to 10 minutes before switching off the engine. Occasionally, you may blow heated air through the filter or even use a disinfectant (we will make a separate tutorial for this in the future). Remember that the air you breathe inside the cabin passes through this filter, so it is important to replace it regularly.

A full tank of gas

A few more of our readers sent token to cover the expenses for a full tank of gas. ECOSPORT DIY SERIES appreciates all the help sent by our readers. Maintaining a website is costly already, and one also needs to factor in the expenses required to carry out modification projects. I am reminded that there are people who care to share the costs of running this website, and thus, such a gesture is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Rear View Dash Camera

With all the modifications I’ve done with our EcoSport, the cost of getting another dash camera became prohibitive. To help offset the costs, one of our generous readers sent me a new Transcend Drive Pro 110. Our donor realized that modification projects do cost a lot, and wanted to help out offset the expenses by sponsoring a project. Thank you very much!

Screw Driver Set and Tire Wedge

I have received a screw driver set and a tire wedge from one of our readers. I’ve been using these items for several months now and they have proved to be very useful. The donor fabricated 2 wooden wedges, and then sent one to me. The screw set was something he thought would be helpful for our DIY series. ECOSPORT DIY SERIES appreciates this kind gesture. Thank you!

LED Replacement for Cabin and External Light Bulbs

One of our readers sent me a set of LED replacement for the cabin and external lights (2 for the dome lights, 1 for the luggage light, 1 for the map light, and 2 for the rear plate lights). While the car does not need bulb replacement at the moment (no busted bulb yet), I may try swapping the LEDs just to try them out. I will be posting a tutorial and a review about these LEDs soon.
