Replacing 12V Port’s Fuse

A 12V DC port or socket (or cigarette lighter socket) is a standard accessory in most vehicles. EcoSport’s top-of-the-line variant, Titanium, is equipped with two ports (front and rear) while Trend and Ambiente variants are equipped with just the front port.

EcoSport’s 12V DC port can deliver current of up to 20 amperes. It can be used to power most electronic devices supplied with a 12V DC plug. A port that suddenly stops working (no power) is likely due to a blown or busted fuse.

To replace the blown fuse of a 12V DC port:

  1. Remove the glove box. Use a flathead screwdriver to remove two hinges.
  2. Locate the fuse. Refer to the photo below.
  3. Remove the rubber cover.
  4. Gently pull the fuse with your hand.
  5. Replace the fuse with a new one (20 amperes).

    I really need this one, i mistakenly put a key inside the 12v port to get something and it spark. :)
